Our World
Today I was just thinking about our world. How horrible things in it are, but also how wonderful.
Terrorists are attacking people, global warming is killing our earth, and many organizations that take away our rights have not been stopped. Ferguson, Eric Garner and many others have been treated unfairly, even when killed. They were trying to give us a better past and present, but instead we gave them no future. Storms like Sandy have hit our country and places around it, and people are left homeless and stranded. And we call ourselves a great world. But then you begin to think about the happy things. The empowering things that make you burst into tears of happiness. They push you forward, so that even though so many have died, things are being born. They let us focus on the life in the world. Parent's coming home from the military, rescue dogs being saved, the looks on those people's faces are what make our world. Then there are the funny things, like the "Linda, honey, listen to me," video clip, and the Jimmy Fallon show. The Ice Bucket Challenge, and that moment when soccer players score the winning goal in the world cup, things that we could never forget. All of this shapes our world.
Sincerely,
Everything Eli
P:S. Another one of my favorite videos is "We are The World". You can find the old version by clicking here, and the newest version by clicking here instead.

Woman's History Month
I just finished a project on Marie Curie. She was such an inspiring woman. But when I was looking for who to do the report on, I realized how many cool, determined, dedicated women there are out there. Since they have so many fantasy football leagues, maybe they should do something like that for women. You could match up women and their discoveries within fields to see which one of them could solve a problem. For example, you could go to the category of athletics, and then to basketball, and choose two women to face off. I would love to create a program like this, but I have no idea how.
Sincerely,
Everything Eli

Rear Window
Sincerely,
Everything Eli
P.S: I'm also a huge Jimmy Stewart fan, so even if the script was terrible, I still would have liked the movie. Also, my favorite old movie film star has to be Cary Grant.
